JOTI Report
Jamboree On The Internet
On Sunday October 18th the 1st Chandler's Ford hosted JOTI 2009 from 12-4pm.
A total of 11 computers, varying from laptops to Tower PC's were kindly loaned so that young people from all the sections could participate in this International event.
All the Scout groups in the District took part and during the event we manged to talk online to fellow Scouts from; Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Portugal, Germany and Italy, and several Eastern European countries were represented
There was also a large group of Scouts from Stevenage (UK) online and we had some conversations with them. The use of "nicknames" for users also meant that at a couple of points Scouts at the 1st were talking to each other without realising it!
Many thanks to the 1st for hosting and setting up this event, and to my special technical "advisor", Keiron Casey from IBM.
